    COUNTY COUNCIL
    FOR MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MARYLAND

    SUBJECT: Publication of 1994 Montgomery County Code.
    BACKGROUND
    1. Charter Section 504 requires the County to compile and publish, under the direction of the County Attorney, at least each 10 years an annotated code of County legislation, public local laws, regulations and the Charter.
    2. The current County Code was published in 1984 and included all applicable laws and regulations current through June 30, 1984.
    3. The 1984 Montgomery County Code has been updated through the use of loose-leaf supplements. Supplement 16 has made the 1984 Code current through June 30, 1993, except for Chapter 59, Zoning, which has been published as volume 4 of the 1984 Code and is current through April V, 1993.
    4. Supplement 17 will make the 1984 Code current through December 31, 1993. The County Attorney has reviewed Supplement 17 and prepared annotations to the Code as updated through Supplement 17. The County Attorney proposes that the 1984 Code as updated through Supplement 17 together with the annotations prepared by the County Attorney be published as the 1994 Montgomery County Code.
    ACTION
    The County Council for Montgomery County, Maryland, approves the following resolution:
    The Council approves publication of the 1984 Code as updated through Supplement 17, together with the annotations prepared by the County Attorney, as the 1994 Montgomery County Code.

    BACKGROUND
    1. Charter Section 504 requires the County to compile and publish, under the direction of the County Attorney, at least each ten years an annotated code of County legislation, public local laws, regulations and the Charter.
    2. The current County Code was published in 1994 and included all applicable laws and regulations current through Supplement 17.
    3. The 1994 Montgomery County Code has been updated through the use of loose-leaf supplements. The December 2004 Supplements have made the 1994 Code, including Chapter 59, Zoning, current through October 31, 2004.
    4. The County Attorney has reviewed the 1994 Code through and including the December 2004 Supplements and prepared annotations to the 1994 Code as updated through the December 2004 Supplements. The County Attorney proposes that the 1994 Code as updated through the December 2004 Supplements, together with the annotations prepared by the County Attorney, be published as the 2004 Montgomery County Code.
    ACTION
    The County Council for Montgomery County, Maryland, approves the following resolution:
    As required by Charter Section 504, the Council approves publication of the 1994 Code as updated through the December 2004 Supplements, which contain all applicable laws and ordinances effective through October 31, 2004, together with the annotations prepared by the County Attorney, as the 2004 Montgomery County Code.
