§ 2-19. Authority to provide legal assistance to indigent defendants.

The county council is hereby authorized to adopt ordinances to effect the establishment of a commission, board, agency or department-level organization to provide the necessary personnel, services, and liaison with other state and county organizations, both public and private, in order to assure adequate legal assistance to indigent defendants in criminal matters before the courts of the county.
